Well the first annual Reggae Academy Awards will be held this sunday and from the looks of things the Academy is planning an extravaganza. Yup, expensive lighting company flown in from ' Faarin ', choreographers , red carpet , live performances by some of the hottest names in reggae as well as the awards ceremony itself ( that's usually the boring part lololol ) . Well with any big event people look forward to seeing what designer suits and gowns are worn and WHO wore it well. BIG UP to the "princess of Danchall Soul" who along with Sly & Robbie gave a spectacular performance at the Ragga Muffins Festival in California this past weekend. Anderson backed by the legendary duo stunned many with her powerful voice, range and undeniable stage presence. She played three consecutive nights as the festival,  two nights  in Long Beach and  one in San Diego.  A friend of ABOUT TO BUSS had the pleasure of meeting her backstage and was blown away by how down-to-earth she was. She took off her high heels, sat down and chit chatted with some fan for more than half hour. She was also spotted in the audience greeting more fans and enjoying the performances of Queen Ifrica and Gregory Issacs. 

THE " WARRIOR LOVE ' WRITER: SHERIETA LEWIS

Ok so we know she is new ( well atleast to the general public ), but this songwriter/singer has been in the entertainment business for a few years. She's been a backing vocalist for some of Jamaica's most talent singers ( including Taurus Riley ). More recently she was one of two Jamaicans selected in the top 20 of BBCs "The Next Big Thing" TV competition. Well because ABOUT TO BUSS stay pon top a tings, we thought we would introduce you to Sherieta Lewis, a co-writer behind Etana's new love song " WARRIOR LOVE ". Lewis in partnership with another talented writer Makeehan Solomon have penned songs for the likes of Jah Cure, Luciano to name a few. We love the tune it a gwaan wid tings.

QUEEN IFRICA ON A ROLL

Now for all those in attendance at the football match between Jamaica and Costa Rica on Wednesday night in Kingston Jamaica, it was clear that Queen Ifrica is a bonafide star ( well  in Jamaica atleast ). Queen received the biggest forward for the nights live entertainment segment. ABOUT TO BUSS also saw her at the EME awards where she was well received and won an award for "BEST FEMALE DJ OF THE YEAR". Gwaan Fyah Mumma wi proud a yuh!!!

ABOUT TO BUSS would like to congratulate actress turn singer/songwriter Cherine Anderson for being a part of Sly & Robbie's 2008 GRAMMY nominated album "Anniversary". Remember that tune ' good love inna di morning inna di evening' ?  HOW COULD WE FORGET LIPS LIKE THAT :-) My favorite part of that video is the scene where Cherine is laying on that brown bed in that chocolate gown looking ooooh so sexy. BRICK & LACE INNA DI PLACE

Jamaican sultry, sexy sister duo Brick & Lace recently recorded a new single produced by Christopher Birch (of Coming Over Tonight fame) called "Room Service". The song is hot and and ABOUT TO BUSS thinks it's a good follow up to the infectious hit "Love Is Wicked" .Of course we will have it as soon as it drops or you never know we might get you a sneak peak of the song :-).
